Mobile health specialist Valencell has teamed up with software player 3Pillar Global to develop what they say will be a new consumer-facing application that helps customers make sense of biometric information generated by Valencell’s PerformTek sensor technology.

Valencell (Raleigh, NC, USA) claims that PerformTek measures more real-time biometrics than any other fitness-monitoring technology, and that major technology players including LG (Seoul, South Korea), Intel (Santa Clara, CA, USA), Blaupunkt (Hildesheim, Germany), Scosche (Oxnard, CA, USA) and iriver (Seoul, South Korea) have already licensed PerformTek for use with their devices.

Valencell and 3Pillar Global (Fairfax, VA, USA) have already created a prototype for the product they hope to build.

“3Pillar has been an excellent partner for us, helping us make critical strategic decisions to move our business forward,” said Steven LeBoeuf, Valencell’s president. “Our patented sensor analytics technology provides meaningful, actionable, and personalized data ideal for use in training, coaching and other applications, and 3Pillar has helped bring our founding vision to life.”

“We have made tremendous strides in the market and look forward to continuing to work with 3Pillar to help us bring more new products to market and expand our business quickly,” he added.

PerformTek has been validated by a number of research institutions, including the Duke Center for Living, and made available in a number of commercial products.

Meanwhile, 3Pillar has launched a series of packaged software services aimed at helping companies to commercialize their products.
