Sierra Wireless launches M2M exchange, partner program

M2M specialist Sierra Wireless is trying to fuel interest in its range of services with the launch of a new solution exchange and partner program.

The program is designed to promote integrated wireless solutions powered by Sierra Wireless (Richmond, Canada) technology and, according to the company, offers a streamlined and functional way for solution partners to market offerings to a network of operator, sales and reseller channels.

The program is designed to promote integrated wireless solutions powered by Sierra Wireless (Richmond, Canada) technology and, according to the company, offers a streamlined and functional way for solution partners to market offerings to a network of operator, sales and reseller channels.

The exchange, meanwhile, has been set up to showcase some of the solutions on offer, includes services that address sectors like fleet and asset management, digital signage, business continuity and smart grids.

At launch, it will feature 28 solutions from a total of 18 partners – all using Sierra Wireles AirLink gateways for 2G, 3G and 4G networks – but the company plans to expand it over the next year to include solutions that incorporate other technologies.

The aim is to make it a valuable resource for organizations looking for connected solutions to improve efficiency and customer service and reduce operating costs.

“We know that many customers prefer to buy packaged proven solutions specific to their industry and needs,” said Emmanuel Walckenaer, the senior vice president of enterprise solutions for Sierra Wireless.

“The M2M Solution Exchange connects customers with solutions for a wide range of applications – from fleet management, to remote monitoring, to sales and payment – that meet their requirements and are ready to deploy,” added Walckenaer. “It’s a unique program that we believe delivers tremendous value to both our partners and to customers.”
