Solutions provider Wiless Controls says it has teamed up with Channel Islands telecoms operator JT Global on the development of M2M services.
Under an agreement signed this week, JG Global (St Helier, Jersey) is to support Wiless Controls’ M2M platform “on every continent using a guaranteed network connection”.
The deal follows “rigorous beta testing” of Wiless Controls’ Cellular Gateway, which is at the core of its M2M platform, and demonstration of the technology by Metropolitan Industries (Romeoville, IL, USA), Wiless Controls’ production and distribution partner, at its headquarters in Illinois.
“Now that production has started on our Cellular Gateway, the base component of our M2M Total Solution, the next building block needed was a global cellular network with the most robust connectivity,” said Michel St-Pierre, the chief executive of Wiless Controls (Montreal, Canada). “JT Global with their Resilience Platform and Multi-Operator Profile SIM provides coverage through virtually every GSM mobile operator in the world.”
JT Global claims that Resilience boosts the reliability and coverage of M2M services, saying these are becoming a “global staple of connectivity in commercial, residential and industrial applications”.
“Early on, JT identified Wiless Controls as a valuable player in the M2M space and Wiless has been great to work with,” said Paul Bullock, JT Global's director of M2M business development. “We are excited that Wiless has chosen JT’s Resilience service as a key building block for its services.”
