Westbase Technology and CradlePoint say they have launched a new M2M router in Europe designed for critical enterprise applications that require round-the-clock connectivity.
Manufactured by CradlePoint (Boise, ID, USA), the new router works on HSPA+ and LTE networks and is intended for use in a range of vertical sectors, including energy, retail, finance, security and transport.
The routers will be distributed by Westbase Technology (Caldicot, UK), which has an agreement with CradlePoint to sell 3G and 4G routers to vertical markets, mobile network operators, value-added resellers, systems integrators and blue-chip companies in Europe.
“Our agreement with CradlePoint expands the Westbase portfolio and supports our customers in taking full advantage of the evolving 4G LTE data communications landscape,” said Sacha Kakad, the managing director of Westbase Technology. “With most of the major mobile network operators due to launch 4G services in the UK this year, businesses can now take advantage of the benefits of data communications with this highly featured low-cost instant impact M2M router from CradlePoint.”
CradlePoint says it benefits from Westbase Technology’s expertise in cellular connectivity and carrier relationships.
“When CradlePoint decided to expand further into Europe and the UK, we searched for a distributor that could showcase our brand and support our valuable customers,” said Tony Puopolo, the vice president of international sales for CradlePoint.
The companies say the router can be deployed as either a primary mobile broadband connection or failover when a wired connection is disrupted, and that it includes enhanced security features to ensure critical data is protected.
