Telekom Austria appears to be preparing for an international push on M2M, with news that software company Comarch has supplied an M2M platform to the operator that will support multiple tenants, currencies and languages.
Comarch (Krakow, Poland) says its technology is now at the core of Telekom Austria’s own M2M SIMplify Platform and will allow the operator – as well as its partners and customers – to manage their businesses more efficiently.
The platform works through the use of “configurable dashboards” that allow M2M services to be controlled easily.
The modular solution should also allow Telekom Austria (Vienna, Austria) eventually to extend its offering to voice and cloud services, M2M application enablement and device management.
Comarch is also providing hosting, operations and support under its “manage services” model, although Telekom Austria will retain full ownership and control of the platform.
“We want our M2M SIMplify platform to serve all the important players in the M2M value chain and meet the demands of a dynamic environment,” said Phat Huynh, Telekom Austria’s M2M manager. “[Comarch] enables us to deliver superior customer experience and open up new revenue streams for our company.”
Comarch has been offering its M2M platform for two years and expects the technology to help Telekom Austria reduce its operational costs – especially given the use of the “managed services” model.
“It will also greatly improve productivity due to a high degree of process automation and out-of-the-box features,” said Piotr Piatosa, vice president of Comarch. “As a result it will enable Telekom Austria to run a successful and efficient M2M business.”
