US M2M-focused MVNO RACO Wireless has announced a deal with Canada’s Rogers Communications that will let customers deploy M2M services in the Canadian market.
The deal to expand the MVNO’s footprint is aimed at customers in a variety of vertical sectors, including fleet management, security, telemedicine and asset management, and includes support for its Omega Management Suite platform.
“Rogers [Toronto, Canada] is Canada’s largest wireless communications provider, and we envision our new relationship tremendously benefiting our current and future customers with M2M needs in the Canadian market,” said John Horn, the president of RACO Wireless (Cincinnati, OH, USA).
RACO Wireless says the agreement with Rogers will enable it to support international customers using customized services and offers that are unique to the Canadian market.
As a result, claims the operator, Canadian businesses and consumers should gain access to a range of connected services in areas including transportation, healthcare, consumer electronics and energy management.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to run their businesses,” said Horn. “By expanding our footprint in Canada we not only meet the needs of our expanding customer base by allowing them to grow internationally with proven tools, but we provide them with a clear advantage over their competition.”
A long-standing partner of T-Mobile USA (Bellevue, WA, USA), RACO Wireless appears to be intensifying efforts to collaborate with other network operators, having recently announced an agreement to use the CDMA and LTE networks of T-Mobile rival Sprint (Overland Park, KS, USA).
Outside the US, the company also has a partnership with the EE (Hatfield, UK), a joint venture between T-Mobile owner Deutsche Telekom (Bonn, Germany) and France Telecom (Paris, France).
That deal allows customers of RACO Wireless to use EE’s network for their international operations, “allowing them to quickly and easily launch M2M applications throughout Europe”, according to the MVNO’s statement.
