M2M specialist Numerex has begun providing new tools and services to i3G, a provider of bulk-liquid tank monitoring solutions.
Thanks to the “Optimizer” functionality, customers of i3G’s (Monroe, CT, USA) “i-tank” offering can now group orders within the application on the basis of product type, order number and shipment.
The “Optimizer” features supports the handoff of order details to loading and distribution operations personnel, bolstering the efficiency and productivity of the company’s operations – with related benefits for customers.
Meanwhile, a “Tank Management” tool allows customers to review delivery data for a given route, group the shipment by product type for a specified time period and use exception-based rules to improve distribution planning.
“i-tank” is based on Numerex’s (Atlanta, GA, USA) cloud-based FAST platform, which is regarded as an industry leader in the tank monitoring area.
Numerex says the main challenge it had to overcome in the case of i3G’s service was the inefficiency of existing methods for tracking, monitoring and managing liquid storage tanks.
Its service remotely communicates details of fill levels, helping companies to boost efficiency, reduce costs and increase product security.
Numerex claims the i3G service reduces the costs of bulk delivery of liquids by eliminating unnecessary field visits, reducing the number of miles driven by the tanker fleet and decreasing manpower hours and fuel consumption.
“With the Numerex FAST platform, we have a unique solution that provides a sustainable competitive advantage to our customers,” said Mike Barcum, the co-founder of i3G. “The new Optimizer and Tank Management tools deliver enhanced value to an industry increasingly focused on making deliveries as efficient as possible.”
Numerex claims it was able to develop i3G’s service enhancements in a fraction of the time that would normally be required for such features by taking advantage of the FAST platform.
“The versatility of that platform continues to be proven out in multiple industries and applications,” said Scott Wiley, the senior vice president of marketing and product management for Numerex.
