Australia-based M2M specialist NetComm Wireless has announced a major distribution agreement with TData aimed at consolidating its position in its domestic market.
Under the deal, TData (Castle Hill, Australia) is to distribute various NetComm (Sydney, Australia) products to value-added resellers, systems integrators and vertical market sectors in Australia.
According to NetComm, Australia’s M2M market is currently the fastest growing in the world, thanks largely to the take-up of M2M services by small and medium-sized organizations in the country.
NetComm describes its solutions as “business continuity products” that will protect businesses from the escalating cost of internet downtime, which is increasingly responsible for lost sales and productivity as companies become more dependent on IP-based services including VoIP, M2M and cloud-based systems.
“Our partner network is an important asset to NetComm Wireless and the targeted expansion of our distribution channel is of strategic importance,” said David Stewart, NetComm’s chief executive. “Australia is at the cusp of tremendous M2M growth and we are pleased to work with TData on building a strong sales pipeline and delivering significant value to customers.”
According to Stewart, some 50% of organizations expect to have adopted M2M by 2015 and 78% have cited M2M as crucial to their business success.
“There exists a huge opportunity for carrier and channel partners focused on differentiation through an innovative and flexible approach to M2M,” he said.
TData has welcomed the addition of NetComm’s portfolio to its products offerings, saying the company’s range of solutions can be “easily customized to support virtually any business, industrial or commercial application, in any environment”.
According to a recent report from IHS, the number of wireless M2M connections is forecast to hit 374.9 million by 2017, driving significant growth in revenue from value-added services.
