M2M modem and gateways provider Multi-Tech Systems has appointed Rodney Landers its new chief executive.
Landers has served as an advisory member on the company’s board of directors since August and is credited with having an “extensive track record of success” in the tech industry.
In 2005, he founded Spectrum Design Solutions, which was purchased by Digi International (Minnetonka, MN, USA) three years later for the sum of $10 million, and is said to enjoy business relationships with some of the industry’s most important players.
“I’m honored and excited to be taking the reins of such a well-established and highly regarded company,” said Landers. “I look forward to continuing their tradition of innovation and customer service as we move the company toward the future and continue to enable the growing Internet of Things.”
Multi-Tech Systems (Mounds View, MN, USA) also revealed that Patricia Sharma, the wife of late founder Raghu Sharma, has stepped into the role of chairperson, while Del Palacheck, who has worked for the company for nearly 40 years, has been appointed chief operating officer, with responsibility for managing day-to-day operations and overseeing the manufacturing, materials and facility management departments.
“I’m delighted that Rod [Landers] has agreed to take over this enterprise which has been such an important part of my family’s life for so long,” said Sharma. “He brings both energy and experience to the role, but most importantly, he shares Raghu’s and my commitment to customer service, employee development and ongoing innovation, which is sure to honor my late husband’s legacy.”
Multi-Tech Systems claims to offer one of the world’s most comprehensive portfolios of M2M products and services “with more than 22 million devices deployed worldwide and more than 80 patents”.
