The M2M Zone has just released the agenda for the only on-site M2M conference at the CeBIT 2012 trade show in Hannover, Germany, which is expecting 350,000 attendees. The conference, which will be held in the CeBIT Life Section of the show, will take place on Thursday, March 8th, beginning with a keynote address from well-known industry analyst Robin Duke-Woolley discussing the current state of the M2M ecosystem.
“M2M is in a steep growth trend in spite of current economic uncertainty and is rapidly moving from an operational to a strategic role in businesses. It is a good news story,” says Duke-Woolley.
Following the Keynote address will be three separate sessions, all concentrating on highly relevant topics in the M2M industry. The first session’s topic will concentrate on the digital security and privacy in M2M , discussing, another other things, how the industry protects and responds to hacking threats.
The second session will focus on M2M in public services, from its use in asset tracking to food production, while the last session will discuss the IT infrastructure in M2M, including where M2M apps begin and end. The conference will also include a presentation on the result of the big SAP e-Car Project, as well as an analyst roundtable
“The subject areas for the sessions in this conference program reflect that change and are particularly important to cover right now at this stage of development,” says Duke-Woolley. “In addition, the eCar project being reported is a fascinating study of the use of e-Cars in practice.”
The M2M Zone also hosts an M2M pavilion at CeBIT , which is expected to double in size for the second consecutive year. Both the conference and pavilion are being produced with the M2M Alliance, Europe’s vendor organization in the field. Following the conference will be a network and cocktail reception.
