HP (Palo Alto, CA, USA) introduced four new telehealth partnerships on Sunday at the annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference. "LifeBot," provider of a mobile telemedicine solution, "Canvys," a medical display company, "Medweb," a cloud-hosted image and data repository, and "Parental Health," a senior monitoring company.
HP is working with LifeBot to provide an EMS telemedicine solution delivered through the HP Slate 500 tablet PC and HP TouchSmart 9100 all-in-one PC. The solution combines HP products with LifeBot's Disaster Relief and Emergency Medical Services (DREAMS') ambulance teletriage and disaster management system, to allow for live transmission of patient physiological data.
Canvys, which announced the world's first notebook to meet the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine 3.14 calibration standard, will integrate with HP's EliteBook 8540w and HP EliteBook 8740w mobile workstations to offer physicians diagnostic-quality images remotely.
HP and Canvys will also integrate with Medweb to provide cloud-hosting for imaging. Medweb's solution is designed for physicians and specialists. Using a downloadable web interface, documents and images can be accessible under the requirements of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Finally, Parental Health's Medical Information Systems To You (MISTY) software application will be bundled with the HP TouchSmart 9100 to place a central tool in the home to facilitate daily health monitoring and connect users with a support network of healthcare professionals and family. MISTY also will be available on the recently introduced HP TouchSmart 9300 Elite.
