Thanks to its partnership with JouleX, a U.S.-based enterprise energy management company, Orange Business Services launches new IT Energy Audit assessment services, an exclusive offer of its Innovation and Sustainability practice.

The IT Energy Assessment helps corporations and governments understand the composition of their energy budget and to achieve significant long-term savings. Through a specific methodology and JouleX Energy Manager software, Orange Business Services offers a comprehensive analysis of devices’ energy consumption, a simulation of savings and the rollout of actions to achieve savings.

The JouleX Energy Manager software provides the ability to baseline, monitor, analyze and manage the energy consumption of all IP network-connected devices and systems ranging from desktops, laptops, monitors, copiers and VoIP phones to servers, switches, routers and storage, to lighting systems and HVAC. JouleX software offers the functionality to monitor energy usage not only in the workplace but also across data centers and facilities management infrastructure.

Touted benefits of this audit include: global financial savings on all equipment, potential savings from 30%-60% of IT energy budget: 30% up to 60% in some occasions, significant Return On Investment within 3-6 months, and no impact on network configuration or security. Also, agentless technology is intended to not require expensive software or device agents or hardware meters to purchase, deploy and maintain.

“Orange Business Services has been committed to Green IT and IT for Green since their early days,” declared Jean-Pierre Lemaire, CEO of Orange Consulting. “Sustainability and Green IT have become key targets at a CEO level within the enterprises, and we are now in a position to meet the expectations of not only CIOs , chasing for new levers to reduce the TCO of their IT infrastructure in and beyond their data centres, but also Heads of CSR looking for minimizing their company’s energy bill and carbon footprint. JouleX software will be key in that ambition.”

“We are excited to be part of Orange Business Services innovative energy assessment services,” comments Tom Noonan, President and CEO of JouleX.  “These new services will provide the industry’s first comprehensive visibility into the energy consumption and utilization of all devices and systems and provide the expertise to significantly reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions by up to 60%.”
