JDSU acquires Circadiant

Adds 10 GigE to its portfolio of test solutions

JDSU, a provider of test solutions for R&D, system verification testing, and production needs to carriers and manufacturers, announced Tuesday that it has acquired Circadiant, another test solutions provider specializing in stressed signal test solutions including SFP+ and 10 GigE.

Terms of the acquisition were not release, but Circadiant's products, such as its Hydra and OST platforms, will only expand Milpitas, Calif.-based JDSU's product portfolio.

The SFP+ transceiver is specified by a multi-source agreement (MSA) between manufacturers and allows greater port density (the number of transceivers per inch along the edge of a mother board) than other transceiver configurations. SFP+ is emerging as the 10 GigE optical interface of choice, the company says in its acquisition announcement, because it enables lower cost and even higher port density network interface cards. JDSU says that Circadiant's products and systems will help developers and manufacturers meet new compliance and performance test challenges.
