Study Finds That Yahoo Offers Best Mobile Web Experience

Interest in Web2.0 Outstrips Media Industry Content

According to a study by Strategy Analytics, Yahoo! has the leading mobile web experience. This is the conclusion of an evaluation of leading mobile web offerings by a Strategy Analytics’ Wireless User Panel in Boston, Massachusetts.

User panel members awarded Yahoo! Mobile with the highest rating. This was primarily due to the fact Yahoo! Mobile represented the best replication of the full website on the Third (mobile) screen. Full website in this context refers to the website that a user would see if that user navigated to the website via a desktop and/or a laptop computer.

Yahoo! beat Google, Napster, YouTube and MySpace. Mobile implementations of these brands were found by the panel to be tangibly inferior to the fixed (or full website) implementations. The User Panel awarded user experience ratings ranging form -12 to – 34 index points. Strategy Analytics also found that the MapQuest site is the most sought-after web location on mobile devices followed by Google.
