Best known as a provider of IT services and consulting, Mahindra Satyam (Hyderabad, India) has launched a new vehicle infotainment and telematics service it is calling the “Connected Vehicle Concept”.

The company says that while other players are bringing standalone products to market it aims to position itself as an end-to-end service provider.

The new service combines an infotainment device with a service delivery platform providing “the entire gamut of value-added services”. Mahindra Satyam says key features of the service include a health module, a vehicle diagnostics system and seamless integration with an app store.

“Mahindra Satyam has solutions and services for different consumer needs,” said Karthikeyan Natarajan, the senior vice president and head of integrated engineering services for Mahindra Satyam. “This Infotainment solution addresses some of the most important challenges that OEMs and Tier 1 automotive companies are facing, through faster time-to-market and reduced costs. While the service delivery opens up several revenue streams for relevant industry players, the device is also frugally built to offer maximum value to price-conscious consumers.”

According to Mahindra Satyam, the “high-end” service provides superior safety features through the service delivery platform, while the “low-end” offer includes the infotainment capabilities for a competitive price.
