FIC and Cluster Wireless to develop “intelligent” M2M solutions

OEM supplier First International Computer (FIC) is teaming up with M2M specialist Cluster Wireless on the development of M2M products and services for the enterprise market.

The two companies have announced a “multi-year technology collaboration and partnership” they say will accelerate the development of “intelligent, flexible, [and] cost-efficient” M2M services aimed at enterprise customers.

FIC (Taipei, Taiwan) says the partnership will give it more flexibility during the design, manufacture and deployment of its custom hardware products.

FIC (Taipei, Taiwan) says the partnership will give it more flexibility during the design, manufacture and deployment of its custom hardware products.

Cluster Wireless (San Diego, CA, USA) will contribute its middleware and portfolio management services, including enterprise-grade device management, sensor management, alarm and fault management, application management and device diagnostics.

“Cluster Wireless M2M Middleware allows us to quickly build our hardware, and customize to a wide range of use cases,” said Alex Dee, the vice president of FIC. “Cluster Wireless’ ability to download applications to the device allows us to adapt to customers’ needs quickly.”

Cluster Wireless says the tie-up will help its own customers to develop M2M products and solutions much faster.

“Our products and services ensure that customers can fine tune their devices to meet ever changing business requirements for M2M deployment,” said Prem Kumar, the chief technology officer of Cluster Wireless.
