Implementing the Information Economy Strategy

delivering innovation, skills and growth

Start Date:
Wednesday, March 19, 2014
End Date:
Wednesday, March 19, 2014

This seminar will offer delegates a timely opportunity to discuss the challenges of implementing the Information Economy Strategy.

Planned sessions examine the key priorities for the Information Economy Council - including the opportunities for improving links between academia, public sector organisations and industry so as to boost key skills in the development and utilisation of information technology.

With the Council attempting to create a shared vision for the information economy in the UK, delegates will consider how to develop and then utilise physical communications infrastructure and regulatory frameworks for online trade and cyber security to enable innovation and growth. This includes trade online and revenues in domestic and international markets for UK businesses and organisations, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

We are delighted that Ken McCallum, Director, Information Economy, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has agreed to deliver a keynote address at this seminar.
