2011 IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid and Clean Energy Technologies (IEEE ICSGCE 2011) will be held in September 27-30, 2011 in Chengdu, China. IEEE ICSGCE 2011 is sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Journal of Electronic Science and Technology (JEST - International) and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).
THE ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM enables our economy and society to function. In some way everything that impacts our lives, from where we live to where we work, from our government to our infrastructure, is dependent on a secure and reliable supply of electricity. Yet many individuals, including those who work in or with the electric power industry, do not have a basic understanding of the electric power system, how it operates or how it is evolving.
The 2011 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting will bring together practicing power engineers, executives, policy makers and academics from all over the world.
The aim of the conference is to provide an international forum for experts to promote, share, and discuss various issues and developments in the field of electrical power engineering.
The second European conference and exhibition on Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT-EUROPE 2011), sponsored by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) and hosted by the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of The University of Manchester, will be held December 5 – 7, 2011 at Manchester Central Complex in Manchester, United Kingdom.
This conference is aimed at finding coordinated answers to new challenges through the contributions of all "smart grid‐ers". Authors are invited to submit their papers and help make this conference another example of professional bridge across engineers and user communities.
As we move from 3G to 4G networks, reaching speeds around 10Mbps to mobile devices, the last hop solutions are finally able to meet current demand. However, a frequent bottleneck occurs in the middle mile between the cellular tower and the core network. Heterogeneous Networks are now emerging that will increase the number cells by including picocells, microcells, femtocells and more. All of these will add to the complexity of the backhaul operations.
Global economic pressures and increasingly intensive competition in domestic telecoms markets continue to drive the trend towards Managed Services. Adopted as a strategy to minimise opex and capex, as well as increase top-line growth, operators worldwide are reaping the benefits from MS partnerships.
The explosion in developments in the Asian telecom landscape has resulted in huge developments in mobile broadband and LTE with analysts predicting M2M mobile connections worldwide will grow to 3.1% by 2014 and revenues from embedded mobile and M2M device revenues predicted to rise to almost $19 billion globally.
The 2011 mHealth Summit will build on last year’s success by bringing a dedicated focus to the business, end-user, and policy perspectives of mHealth, fostering in-depth dialogue to identify and accelerate cross-cutting value chains and sustainable mHealth business models from around the globe.
