Nokia Siemens partners with Accedian to assure high network performance

Accedian Networks, provider of High Performance Service Assurance solutions for Carrier Ethernet and IP networks, Monday announced a partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks. Both companies will team up to offer service providers a solution to assure high performance of IP/Ethernet networks.

Nokia Siemens Networks has integrated Accedian Networks' MetroNIDdemarcation device, and its MetroNODE 10GE Ethernet Operations Administration and Maintenance (OAM) aggregation platform with their solutions such as Mobile Backhaul, Carrier Ethernet Transport and Multiservice IP Backbone.

AT&T, T-Mobile CEOs defend mobile mega-merger

Top executives of AT&T Inc. and T-Mobile insisted on Wednesday their proposed merger would benefit consumers and rejected criticisms that it would stifle innovation.

AT&T Chief Executive Randall Stephenson and T-Mobile USA CEO Philipp Humm appeared before the Senate Judiciary's antitrust subcommittee to defend their deal, which would concentrate 80 percent of U.S. wireless contract customers in just two companies -- AT&T/T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.

Sprint teams with Trimble to deliver fleet management services to general services administration

Sprint today announced that it is teaming with Trimble, a provider of location-based technology solutions, to provide U.S. government agencies a broad range of fleet management capabilities and solutions as part of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).

The BPA will be administered by GSA Fleet, which provides fleet management services to more than 75 participating federal agencies. With more than 217,000 vehicles, GSA Fleet manages one of the largest non-tactical federal fleets in the U.S. government.

Verizon Wireless and USAT partner to deliver cashless payment, M2M solutions

Verizon Wireless and USA Technologies, Inc. announced in April a collaboration that further accelerates the adoption of wireless cash payment services and machine-to-machine applications via USA Technologies' patented ePort Connect Service. USA Technologies solution will now include the Verizon Wireless network for connectivity that enables wireless point-of-sale payments at vending machines via credit and debit cards.
