White space radio takes advantage of unused TV channels as we switch from analogue TV to digital TV. Signals in these frequencies can travel long distances and easily penetrate walls. This makes white space radio ideal for long-range applications that require wide-area connectivity.
Sensus (Raleigh, N.C.), a utilities infrastructure company, on Monday announced its AquaSense intelligent water management system, which integrates the Sensus FlexNet two-way communications network- a network that provides smart grid utilities with multiple channels free of interference from competing traffic- with advanced meters, software and services to help utilities boost operational efficiency and customer engagement.
Sensus is helping water utilities across the country implement water management projects.
Octo Telematics (Rome, Italy), a company providing telematics to the insurance and automotive market, on Wednesday announced its partnership with Telenor Connexion (Stockholm, Sweden), an M2M network provider. SK Telecom (Seoul, South Korea), a mobile operator in Korea, will soon increase its network capacity by four times with 40 gigabits per second (40G) transmission, and prepare its network for transition to 100G capacity in the future.
