Telecommunications provider Telefonica (Madrid, Spain) and Masternaut (Paris, France), a provider of vehicle tracking management, have reached an agreement to jointly market telematics-enabled fleet management services. Both Telefonica and Masternaut will share product roadmaps to create products, according to Telefonica.
The agreement, which gives Telefonica access to Masternaut's telematics products and services, helps the company advance towards its goal of boosting revenue generation beyond connectivity, says the company. Telefonica hopes that these M2M products add incremental layers of value to its efficiency and sustainability, as they seek to gain a competitive advantage.
According to the terms of the agreement, the two companies will market joint products designed to target the growing sustainable fleet market. According to both companies, customers can save up to 20% on fuel through driver behavior management. Masternaut will provide fleet management services, applications, platforms and technical support, while Telefonica will contribute with its commercial network, including pre- and post-sales support, and customer care, says Telefonica. Everything will be deployed over Telefonica’s network.
The products, distributed under the Telefonica brand, also include Fleet optimization applications that allow for the deployment of mobile resources, telematics-enabled products for the insurance market and the dynamic management of corporate risk, says Telefonica.
