Ryder offers mobile maintenance, telematics at new Texas facility

Logistics and supply-chain management player Ryder System says it has opened a new truck maintenance and rental facility in Schertz, Texas that will provide mobile maintenance and telematics services to its customers.

According to the company, the facility will offer a rental fleet equipped with GPS telematics technology, making Ryder the “only company in the market with a facility offering both vehicle rental and mobile maintenance”.

“Ryder [Miami, FL, USA] is continuing to see growth and expansion across the country, as more businesses look to outsource fleet management,” said Mark Cicchini, Ryder’s senior vice president of asset management. “We are happy to provide our customers in the Tri County Parkway area with state-of-the-art maintenance services, expert technicians and a wide selection of the latest commercial rental vehicles.”

Ryder provides what it describes as a “customized transportation solution” through its Ryder Full Service Lease program, which provides businesses with commercial vehicles, related maintenance and a variety of other services, including fleet-management-reporting tools and driver-safety features.

Its Ryder Commercial Rental service, meanwhile, offers customers rental trucks on a short-term basis to meet needs for supplemental capacity, while Ryder Contract Maintenance provides maintenance for customers who want to make use of Ryder’s network of facilities and technicians to maintain their truck fleets.
