Raco Wireless, SkyWave integrate fleet-management services

MVNO Raco Wireless says it has completed the integration of its Position Logic platform with satellite-cellular devices from SkyWave Mobile Communications.

Thanks to those efforts, says the company, means there is now a fully integrated software and hardware solution supporting communications for customers in the fleet-management industry.

SkyWave (Ottawa, Canada) provides satellite terminals as well as dual-mode terminals working on both satellite and cellular networks, and also offers applications, network and professional services for mobile and fixed remote industrial tracking, monitoring, control and management.

Raco (Cincinnati, OH, USA) says the incorporation of its GPS tracking platform – Position Logic – with SkyWave’s IsatData Pro fleet-management system will create a more seamless customer experience.

In combination, it claims, the technologies will give companies more oversight of fleet operations and allow managers to run fleets more efficiently by sending position and status reports, tracking drive time and knowing whether or not vehicles are in a cellular coverage area.

“This integration allows users of the Position Logic platform to benefit from the ability to customize tools and configure the devices in real time, and creates a convenient solution that speeds the time to market for an IsatData Pro fleet management system,” said Felix Lluberes, president of location-based services at Raco Wireless.

The companies also claim the integration will allow them to expand their market reach into new geographies and verticals.
