Numerex Corp (Atlanta, GA, USA), a provider of machine-to-machine products and services, today announced that it will collaborate with Cinterion (Munich, Germany), a specialist in cellular machine-to-machine communication modules to distribute and integrate Cinterion modules.
Both companies are influential in their respective fields. Numerex is the first M2M service provider in North America to be ISO 27001 certified for information security. Cinterion was acquired by Gemalto (Amsterdam, Netherlands) in June 2010.
Cinterion offers a range of M2M security products covering wireless communication modules, Machine Identification Modules, value-added software applications, and remote management services. The agreement combines Cinterion's portfolio of wireless communication modules with Numerex's "DNA" (Device, Network, and Application) service model for its integrated services.
Michael Marett, COO of Numerex, cites integration streamlining and the reduction of time-to-market for Numerex customers as the driving force behind the deal. Peter Fowler, Cinterion Regional President of the Americas at Gemalto, said Numerex will bundle Cinterion modules with its own services and support.
