KORE Telematics, a wireless service provider specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, on Thursday announced the availability of its Quickstart Program for Huawei's Evaluation Kits. Designed specifically for the developer community, the KORE Quickstart Program enables companies to more quickly and easily bring new M2M solutions to market on the KORE network.
KORE (Alpharetta, Ga., USA) has teamed with Huawei Device (Shenzhen, P.R.C.), a provider of global mobile broadband and convergence terminals, and Novotech Technologies (Ottawa, Canada), a provider of M2M services, to accelerate the advancement of M2M applications. Developers using the KORE Quickstart Program can purchase Huawei's M2M modules and evaluation kits through Novotech. By combining the Huawei kits with the Novotech technical support and KORE M2M network services, developers will have all the required components, including cellular connectivity, to bring M2M applications to market.
“When a developer buys a cellular module evaluation kit they can struggle getting a subscription account for testing purposes. In some cases, getting up and running can take several weeks and once they get service enabled on the module, they have limited tools to help with their development,” says Lino Osegueda, senior director of business development at KORE. “With KORE, a customer can setup a test & trial agreement within a few days (2-3 business days), which gives them access to multiple networks (GSM, CDMA and Satellite), and access to our Business Management Portal, PRiSMPro, with capabilities that include data monitoring, plan selection flexibility, activate/deactivate/suspend service, etc. and our technical support team specialized in M2M”
According to Osegueda, being able to test on a live network quickly can reduce development cycles from weeks to months depending on the complexity of the application.
