It’s been quite a ride for Vonage. Despite some setbacks over the past year, the broadband voice company is in the process of playing into the bundled mentality via its latest partnership with Covad Communications. In this Audiocast, Sean Buckley, Editor in Chief of Telecommunications, talks to Jeffery Citron, CEO of Vonage about its latest offerings and where it wants to go in 2008 and beyond.
Citron addresses the following questions in this Audiocast:
Vonage has had quite a year with patent issues and dealing with a lackluster
economy. To start, give us a feel for the past year and where you want to
go in 2008?
In a recent interview with Telecommunications, you said that consumers
'want features and services that make that voice more attractive.' How is
the nature of the voice customer changing in your eyes?
Do you see a growing demand from Small to Medium Businesses (SMBs)
for packages like Vonage-Pro — where T1 might be overkill, but DSL with
good quality of service would be a better fit?
Cable, for one, continues to get aggressive on going after the SMB
market. Are you going to strike similar deals with other broadband
providers?
