Service providers and their network equipment suppliers (NEPs) face a couple of fundamental challenges today: how to differentiate their offerings while simultaneously scaling their services. What has plagued them in achieving these goals is that up till now they had to rely on home grown and inefficient testing methodologies and systems. In this Audiocast, Sean Buckley, Editor in Chief of Telecommunications, talks with Kingston Duffie, CTO and founder of Fanfare about how these industry segments need a new approach to Quality Assurance testing.

Duffie addresses the following questions in this Audiocast:

  • Certainly, network equipment providers and service providers are facing various challenges: a consolidating market, limited resources and the ability to stay agile. With that in mind, what do you believe are the challenges that service providers and NEPs face in doing QA testing?
  • What are the various trends emerging in the QA space?
  • Let’s switch to Fanfare. Talk about the iTest Team suite and how that platform is resonating in the vendor and the carrier community.
  • Can you cite a specific example of how your test tools helped solve QA issues for a telecom vendor or a service provider?
  • As a follow up, do you see more carriers wanting to leverage and see the test case results prior to deploying a piece of equipment in their network?
