Redback to showcase SmartEdgeŽ 1200 Multi-Service Edge Router

      

Redback Networks Inc., an Ericsson company that makes video centric routers for 75 percent of the world's largest telephone companies, has announced the company will showcase its award-winning SmartEdgeŽ 1200 multi-service edge router at Broadband World Forum Europe.


Redback will demo the next-generation edge routing capabilities delivered by the SmartEdge 1200 and the integration of its SmartEdge platform with Ericsson's end-to end solutions at Redback/Ericsson booth 3010. In conjunction with Ericsson, Redback will highlight how it is extending data, voice and video services to mobile networks, and providing highly available networks for some of the world's largest IPTV deployments.

Redback's SmartEdge multi-service edge platform is used by 15 of the top 20 telephone carriers worldwide, to deliver a mix of broadband, phone and TV services to more than 63 million subscribers. The SmartEdge 1200 uses a single network box to deliver any combination of data, voice, and video services across both wireline and wireless networks. Since its launch on June 4, the SmartEdge 1200 has been honored with six industry awards based on its innovative architecture and advanced multi-service edge routing capabilities.
