Greenfield Communications, VUDU synch up on VoD

Service provides thousands of movies to fiber-to-the-home customers

Service provider Greenfield Communications has signed a distribution agreement with VUDU to deliver VOD services to the company’s southern California and Arizona customers beginning in Q4 2007.

As part of this new service, subscribers will get access to thousands of movies from both major studios and 20 international distributors. Under the terms of the agreement, Greenfield will market VUDU to its existing customers, install the equipment and provide hands-on tutorials.

Over its GPON-based FTTH network from Calix, Greenfield is currently delivering 150 Mbps of bandwidth to residents.
