Ayantra integrates Cinterion's BG2 M2M module into new asset management solution

Cinterion and Ayantra yesterday announced together at CTIA Wireless in Orlando, Florida, the launch of FleetWare, a remote monitoring solution for tracking assets that do not have a power source. Cinterion, a Gemalto company, provides cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication modules. Ayantra provides remote asset management solutions.

nPhase launches developer program; opens new M2M markets

nPhase, which this week showcased example partner capabilities with Axeda Corporation Sierra Wireless and CalAmp, provided more details on their nPhase ONE developer program at CTIA Wireless 2011. A Verizon Wireless and Qualcomm Incorporated joint venture, nPhase last week announced a new machine-to-machine (M2M) developer program, called nPhase ONE, that will provide a single M2M application development platform with comprehensive support and advanced M2M capabilities engineered for deployment on Verizon Wireless and Vodafone mobile networks.

Sprint expands M2M partner ecosystem

Sprint announced Monday at CTIA in Orlando, Florida, expanded M2M solutions provided by 14 Sprint partners. These partner offerings bring additional specialized capabilities to Sprint’s broad-based M2M portfolio, including the fast-growing segments of connected transportation, fixed and portable solutions, SmartGrid and utilities, and health care.

AT&T to acquire T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom

AT&T Inc. and Deutsche Telekom AG announced Sunday that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which AT&T will acquire T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom in a cash-and-stock transaction currently valued at approximately $39 billion. The agreement has been approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies. AT&T was unavailable for comment.

ChinaTel signs contract for ZTE to supply equipment and services for wireless broadband network in Fujian Province

ZTE Corporation, a global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, and China Tel Group, Inc., a US-based operator of wireless broadband and telecommunications networks, today jointly announced they have signed a contract for ZTE to supply ChinaTel with infrastructure equipment for the nine city wireless broadband network ChinaTel is deploying in the Fujian province.
