Transverse: OSS can no longer be an afterthought

Open source approach helps carriers respond to new competitive challenges

• With so much attention on building out capacity, driving new services and other innovations, it seems like Operational Support Systems (OSS) was always an afterthought; however, with the telecom industry becoming ever more competitive as cable operators continue to hone their residential and business acumen, it seems that Operational Support Systems (OSS) could be an even greater enabler for service differentiation. Would you agree?

• Are there other factors that are driving service providers to rethink their OSS plans?

• A key message for Transverse is that they are an open source OSS platform. Talk about the nature of open source and its relevance to next-gen OSS/BSS systems.

• One carrier segment where Transverse seems to have gained some initial ground is in the wireless arena with the Crossroads Wireless win. Talk about what relevance an open source OSS platform will have in a wireless network?

• Speaking of wireless, Transverse worked with iGillot Research on a mobile advertising survey. How can the Next Gen OSS (NGOSS) system enable more effective mobile advertising for wireless operators?
